The Southwest can be a difficult place to garden. As I love plants that want to live and grow I've become very fond of Cactus and Succulents. They are tough and the cactus have beautiful flowers in the spring. Before the spring bulbs have started to bloom the hens and chicks look like soft colored flowers on a brown back ground.
