Spuria Iris
Spuria Irises are beardless and resemble giant Dutch Irises. Some grow up to 5' tall. Which makes them good background plants.

Spurias prefer neutral to slightly alkaline soil and need good drainage in a sunny location which receives at least half day sun to bloom. They are heavier feeders than Tall Bearded iris. It is best to use a non organic fertilizer to discourage rot. Most Spurias are summer dormant and survive on little to no summer water thus minimizing the danger of rot.
